new job

These past couple of weeks have just been tremendously encouraging as I interviewed for the position and then was asked to join the staff at my church. The few conversations that I've already had with my supervisor affirm that we share many beliefs - about the Church, about training, about my role on the team, etc. We will get along well.

In addition to that, I'm eager to serve alongside others I've gotten to know over the past couple of years. They challenge me and push me to grow, and they have been nothing but supportive throughout this interviewing process (which happened rather quickly, actually). I'm excited to be able to learn more from them.

wonderful time

I just want to Praise the Lord for the wonderful time of fellowship shared yesterday with my sister, brother-in-law, and dear friend. It was fun to spend time together. God is so good to us and places within our lives some pretty great people.

I was just want to thank God that, when a certain person fell and hit his head and got a concussion last week, he was okay and nothing worse happened!

Prayer for Surgery

A guy who recently retired from where I work had a heart attack a week ago Monday. Tomorrow morning, he will be having a quadruple-bypass open-heart surgery. He's a dear friend to many of us, so any prayer lifted up for him and his family would be appreciated.

Perfect timing...

This week, I got a surprise gift from an old classmate of mine... and it was just PERFECT timing on God's end. From the gift itself and the significance it carries, to the specific choice of words in the note that my friend wrote... God used my friend to encourage me this week, and I couldn't help but smile at the way He chose to reveal Himself.

Please remember in prayer

Today I had lunch with a good friend who works in the construction field. He shared with me that this past week he took a pretty hard fall from an extension ladder. He fell about 6 feet landing on concrete on his right side. His head hit very hard against the concrete. He may have a cracked skull, may have some dislocation of his right side jaw, is pretty bruised and very sore. He has not shared this with any family members (he is single). He did see a doctor, but like most men, doesn't follow up until it is too late. He is a strong Christian man who asked me to keep him in my prayers as he heals. I am asking that all of you remember him also; that God will keep him safe and protected; and if it is God's will that he suffer no lasting problems from this fall. His name is Paul. Sharing Faith at Work

If you work outside the home, you have the opportunity of sharing your faith at your workplace. These opportunities may arise in different ways: during conversations with coworkers over lunch or breaks, during a task that you are assigned to do, or various other situations.

Recently, I've had opportunities to share my values and opinions with a few of my coworkers while they shared their values and opinions with me. Although we did disagree on some things, it gave us a chance to discover some things about each other and maybe gain a new insight as to why we believe what we believe.

How are some ways that you share your faith in the workplace?

Do you take a chance to let others know what you believe and why you believe it?

How do they take it?

Do you listen to find out what they believe and why?

Do you end angry at each other for any possible differences, or do you appreciate the opportunity to learn about your coworkers?
